ABOUT US (KOKODA
HOLIDAYS)
Kokoda Holidays is wholly owned and
operated by local Papua New Guineans who live along the Kokoda
track. We are the grandsons and relatives of the famous ‘fuzzy wuzzy
angels’ who were so much a part of the success of halting the
Japanese advance to Port Moresby in World War 2. We are committed to
fostering the relationship forged with Australia during the war
experience and to preserve the heritage and environment along the
track while providing employment for local guides and
porters.
The
company was founded by David Soru from Alola village in 2002. His
vast local knowledge and years of experience of the track give the
Kokoda Holiday experience a unique local flavour and unbeatable
access to the people and places along the track. All of our guides
and porters are also experienced locals and we promise to give you
an unsurpassed experience of both the history along the track and a
taste of local culture
